Get Involved

Want to know how you can help the Time to Attach initiative? Here we provide some of the ways in which you can contribute to the #TimeToAttach movement for extending parental leave benefits for adoptive parents, kin and customary caregivers. Our partners at Adopt4Life: Ontario’s Adoptive Parent Association have an ongoing awareness and advocacy campaign which you can take part in!

Write a Blog Post

Adopt4Life is accepting submissions for blog posts relating to our Time to Attach research. Blogs should highlight your thoughts about an additional category of EI benefits called “attachment benefits”, which would give children more time to attach. These can draw on your experiences as an adoptive parent, as an adoptee, as AdoptReady, or as a kin or customary caregiver. Blogs should be approximately 500 words and can be anonymous. Please send entries to blogs@adpot4life.com. Any questions can be directed towards info@adopt4life.com. See Adopt4Life’s webpage for more details!

Contact your Member of Parliament

You can get involved as well by contact your member of parliament. Send them an email or contact their office to tell them how important an attachment leave would be to you and your family.
