Chalon Completes Roster with European Competition Veteran Aher Uguak
Elan Chalon has finalized its squad by signing Aher Uguak, a forward with significant experience in European competitions. This marks the club's final acquisition of the summer, following the recent signing of Miller Kopp.
After completing a five-season collegiate career in the NCAA, the Canadian-South Sudanese player began his professional journey in Europe with Chemnitz in Germany. During his tenure there, Uguak participated in the Basketball Champions League (BCL) and won the FIBA Europe Cup in 2024, a competition he will now join in Saône-et-Loire.
Uguak quickly became a key player for Chemnitz. However, his momentum was halted in January 2025 due to a patellar tendon fracture, which kept him sidelined for 11 months. He now seeks to relaunch his career in France.
Coach Elric Delord commented on the signing: "Aher is the last player to join our team. He's a small forward with significant game volume, the type of player who fills up the stat sheet. I appreciate his physicality on both offense and defense, as well as his versatility, making him a complete player. He can play at both shooting guard and power forward, and his measurements (over 2 meters tall, 2.10-meter wingspan) give him a distinct advantage. Finally, he will bring his basketball IQ, European experience, and human qualities to our team for the upcoming season."
Aher Uguak Signs as Chalon's Latest Acquisition
The French basketball club Elan Chalon has announced the signing of Aher Uguak, a versatile forward, to conclude their offseason recruitment. Uguak brings valuable experience from European competitions, including the BCL and a FIBA Europe Cup title.
Following his collegiate career, Uguak played for Chemnitz in Germany, where he established himself as a significant contributor and participated in European tournaments. His progress was interrupted by a serious injury in January 2025, and he is now looking to bounce back in France.
Coach Elric Delord expressed his satisfaction with the signing, highlighting Uguak's all-around game, physicality, versatility, and European experience as key assets for the team.
