FC Barcelona Welcomes New Sporting Director
This summer, FC Barcelona has undergone a significant transformation across all levels, including its administrative departments. The gradual step back of Juan Carlos Navarro, who has served as General Manager since 2021, has led to a reshuffle, and the Catalan club has now officially appointed a new sporting director for the next three seasons: Xevi Pujol.
Originally from Manresa, the 36-year-old executive developed his career within his home club, first as an assistant coach from 2014 to 2020, and then as sporting director from 2020 to 2025. He was recognized as the Sporting Director of the Year by Gigantes del Basket magazine, which subsequently led to his move to Baskonia. There, he served as technical secretary during the 2025-2026 season, contributing to a King's Cup victory.
This Catalan leader will now be instrumental in completing the extensive reconstruction of the Blaugranas' squad for the 2026-2027 season.
